History or should I say His Story

I can actually say that I have lived during an important historic moment! The United States of America has elected an African American by the name of "Barack Obama". This is something HUGE not just in the US but all over the world!! People of all ages are extremely excited about this monumental moment, not just in American history but in world history. Many of the individuals that witnessed this historic moment are people can remember and some may have even experienced slavery or segregation to some agree. We have come a long way from separated water fountains and fire-hosing in the streets! But we still have a very long way to go...

On another note emotions are very high at this time, and they are very diverse. Some people are rejoicing, others are fearful, and there are a few who are even upset. Some feel that, "We are not ready for a 'black' president." I totally disagree with that. Its 2008 and I feel that we are ready for change. Weather change comes in the form of a female president or an African American president. I feel that the US is different today and in a different space than it has been. Therefore we need someone that is going to make a difference. And I feel that President Obama is that difference!



All in all I am very excited, fearful, and anxious to see what is next for us!
